Many early black and white photographs contain quite amazing fine detail. Very often this is missed or lost because of low-resolution settings when scanning, for example 75dpi, - 100dpi.
If however a high dpi setting is selected say 600dpi - 800 dpi then the detail it is possible to extract can be spectacular.
